Take a walk back in time and visit this truly marvelous facility that is full of history of the early days of Paynesville and life in rural Minnesota.
The museum, which is located on the east side of Paynesville along Highway 23, houses many historical artifacts and features numerous exhibits. If you would like to make a donation, want a special tour, or need information, call the museum at (320) 243-7547.
In 1969 the Paynesville Area Historical Society started collecting artifacts which today are showcased in the museum. Items such as an antique kitchen, various farming tools, medical equipment and instruments, religious artifacts, and some old cars make up just a few of the things you will see when you visit this exceptional museum. In addition, take the opportunity to tour the old country school house which has been restored to its original condition with authenic furnishings.
